about me

Hi! I am a 26-year-old scientist, musician, and dancer based between New York and Boston. I am a PhD student in Theoretical Neuroscience at Columbia University and a Master of Public Health candidate in Global Health at Harvard University, where I investigate gender and racial equity in artificial intelligence algorithms in healthcare. I also work as a data scientist for Hospital Albert Einstein, in São Paulo, Brazil, in a project in partnership with the local Ministry of Health to implant artificial intelligence solutions in effort to help democratizing access to quality care.

Born and raised in Brazil, I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of São Paulo (USP), earning a degree from the “mysterious” Molecular Sciences Course and another one in Applied and Computation Mathematics with a specialization in control systems. Simultaneously, I obtained my musical training from São Paulo Municipal Music School (EMMSP), where I studied symphonic double-bass and choral conducting, and from the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra (OSESP) where I studied lyrical singing. Prior to this, I obtained my professional degrees in Classical Ballet and in American Tap Dance from dance academy Ballet Ana Araújo, where I was formally trained in Jazz Dance for seven years.
